Mushrooms in the Ulyanovsk region have gone actively this year and delight mushroom pickers with their diversity. In this area, mushroom pickers find an abundance of edible mushrooms around trees and under foliage, among them they meet: porcini mushrooms, chanterelle, boletus and mushrooms.
Types of mushrooms in the Ulyanovsk region
Kuzovatovsky district
Mushroom places of the Ulyanovsk region include the Kuzovatovsky district with the center in the urban-type settlement Kuzovatovo. This area is characterized by deciduous forests and birch groves.
Chanterelles
They belong to the edible representatives of the mushroom kingdom.
- The cap of the fruiting body has a yellow-red color.
- The size of the cap in diameter can be from 4 cm to 14 cm.
- The pulp is distinguished by its elastic and juicy structure, as well as high density. Its edges are colored due to the presence of yellow pigment, but the central part is white.
- This representative of the Kingdom of Mushrooms grows in deciduous forests.
The skin covering the cap is poorly separated from the pulp, so it is usually not removed during cleaning. The lower part (leg) is shortened - up to 10 cm. The spore powder is also yellow.
Chanterelle has advantages over other types of edible mushrooms due to the presence of quinomannose, which is able to destroy insect larvae and parasites. The gray chanterelle has a cap measuring 5-16 cm. It is characterized by a sweeping lower part, which reaches a length of 14 cm. A feature of this favorite mushroom picker is that a curved edge of the cap is typical for its fruiting body, which has concavities in the central part. The pulp is characterized by a dense structure and brownish-grayish shades.
Boletus
The cap of a boletus grows in diameter from 6 to 22 cm, its color ranges from grayish-white to dark brownish in calm tones and shows a dependence on the age of the fruiting body and the habitat of the fungus. The shape of the cap of a young boletus resembles a half of a ball and changes in shape during the ripening of the fruit body. During the period of active precipitation, it is covered with a protective substance.
The pulp is white, the structure is dense, does not darken at the site of the cut, as it ages, it becomes watery, hard and friable. The leg is slightly thickened at the bottom, its surface is covered with scales - white or dark. The legs grow up to 20 cm in height, and usually no more than 7 cm in girth.
Harvesting is carried out from mid-summer to early autumn near birch groves.
White mushroom
Porcini mushrooms have a wonderful refined aroma and soft mushroom taste.
The cap is brownish-brown, its diameter is from 8 to 35 cm. The flesh is white, has a dense structure, it is fleshy and juicy. Over time, the pulp becomes more fibrous and takes on a yellowish tint.
The leg grows up to 9-17 cm in length, the diameter is not more than 10 cm. The leg has the shape of a barrel.
You should start picking mushrooms in June. The last representatives of porcini mushrooms can be collected in the middle of autumn.
Ryzhiki
In the Kuzovatovsky district, edible mushrooms are often found in mushroom places.
The cap of a mature saffron milk cap reaches 17 cm; a distinctive feature is a depression in its central part and edges bent down. The color varies from light yellow to deep fiery.
The peculiarity of saffron milk caps is that they secrete a thick, milky, yellow juice that tastes good. The mushroom cap is slippery and smooth. The plates are dense, with a narrow lumen. The leg is shortened, its length is 9-12 cm. According to mushroom pickers, fruit bodies grow and ripen before the onset of frost, so they need to be harvested before December.
Staromainsky district
The forests are rich in honey agarics
In the Staromainsky district of the Ulyanovsk region, mushrooms and mushrooms grow in deciduous and coniferous forests.
Lactose
The cap is fleshy, its diameter is from 6 to 23 cm. There is a small depression in the middle. In young representatives, there is a well-defined pubescence along the edges of the cap.
The skin is white or somewhat creamy, pinkish pigmentation is found, and when precipitation occurs, the surface becomes sticky. The fleshy part of a dense structure, a typical mild aroma, as well as a pronounced pungent aftertaste. It is also typical that this mushroom produces a whitish milky juice with a bitter taste.
The leg is up to 10 cm in length, stable and narrowed at the bottom. The plates are closely spaced, have a narrow lumen. The spore powder is pink in color.
Mushroom
Honey mushrooms have a long, thin and flexible leg - 12-17 cm high. Color from white to brownish. There is a ring separating the cap and the leg itself. The ends of the cap are folded up and look down. Young representatives of this group of fungi have dark-colored scales on their surface, which disappear during the aging of the fungus.
The cap is rounded down, in a young mushroom it is dark and scaly, it becomes smoother with age. Hats come in cream or white, yellow and reddish shades.
Irina Selyutina (Biologist):
Honey mushrooms are a combined "company" that includes species belonging to different genera. What unites them is mainly the place of growth - stumps. Translated from Latin, the word Armillaria - denoting the genus of honey agaric is "bracelet". So scientists have demonstrated that mushrooms grow in large groups - a kind of living bracelets surrounding the stumps around the perimeter. There are also known species that have chosen meadows for their residence - meadow mushrooms or non-nippers from the Negniychnikov family.
In general, honey mushrooms are not very large mushrooms. And if they did not grow up in numerous families, they would constantly be mistaken for toadstools.
Fans of "quiet hunting" probably made a notch in their memory - honey agarics after the rains are getting a lot. The temperature here does not really matter: after all, if warming occurs, some species will appear, cooling - others. It turns out that you can collect them almost all year round. The main thing is to have the required level of humidity.
It will be possible to collect these mushrooms in Ulyanovsk in the second half of the summer.
Baryshsky district
There are more mushroom places on the map of the Barysh district of the Ulyanovsk region in comparison with other areas. In these places, in addition to the previously described mushrooms, you can also collect boletus and boletus.
Oiler
A butter dish is a small mushroom. Its cap is brown, 6 to 17 cm in diameter. Depending on various factors, its surface becomes oily and shiny. The peel leaves the pulp quite easily.
This mushroom has a lot of varieties: gray oiler, m. Summer granular, m. Yellowish or m. Marsh, m. Larch, sieve or goat, m. Real or m. Late, etc. In Latin, the generic name Suillus (oiler), sounds like suillus.
The gray oiler has a pillow-shaped hat. As it grows, it flattens out and reaches 6 to 15 cm in diameter. The color is olive yellow, the integumentary tissue is covered with a protective substance of an adhesive structure and has scales. The pulp is white, a blue pigment appears on the cut.
The grill has a yellow hat with admixtures of brown, red and orange.
You need to pick these mushrooms in Ulyanovsk from July to August-September.
Boletus
Boletus is an edible and delicious mushroom. The hat is bright red, its girth reaches 24-32 cm. The cover is dry and velvety to the touch.
The leg with a thickening at the base, grows up to 20-25 cm, a feature is the dark scales located on its surface.
Irina Selyutina (Biologist):
Boletus in many print and Internet sources is called "aspen" and "redhead". This generalized name - boletus, includes all types of this mushroom, which, like boletus, are included in the genus Leccinum or Obabok. At a young age, the cap of the mushroom tightly fits the upper part of the leg - one might say squeezes and resembles a thimble put on a finger. But as the mushroom grows, the cap begins to flatten out and in mature specimens it already has the usual shape for us, but in overgrown specimens it is almost flat. The peel may even be felt and in some species hangs from the edges of the cap, but even in this case it is difficult to remove from the surface. The tubular hymenophore can reach a thickness of 1-3 cm and can be yellow or brown in color, pure white or grayish. The flesh of the cap and the leg is different: in the cap it is fleshy, with a dense structure, but in the leg, although it is dense, but with well-visible longitudinal fibers.
Very often, novice mushroom pickers confuse boletus and aspen mushrooms. To prevent this from happening, make a small incision on the fruiting body of the mushroom: if the initially white flesh turns blue, and then turns black, there is a boletus in front of you.
The harvest occurs in mid-summer and lasts until September.
